A Forum for Initiating Profound Change
The Montreal Millennium Summit may be in its infancy, but it still has far-reaching goals. Like the World Economic Forum in Davos, where the world’s most prominent economic decision-makers gather, we are confident the Montreal Millennium Summit will become a major annual international event attracting the leading figures, organisations and agencies from around the globe.
As such, we intend to put forward the following objectives:
- Informing individuals from around the globe about the Millennium Development Goals and the importance of international development
- Creating a forum for exchange, discussion and decision-making for key players in international development from Canada and around the world
- Positioning Montreal and Canada as world capitals of international development
- Spotlighting the work of organisations and individuals making a difference in improving the quality of life around the world
- Inspiring and preparing heroes who, through their actions, can contribute to sustainable development
